Cherry Blossoms
Cherry Blossoms are a major theme in the area where I live. Among other things a road bicycle race is named after it, as well as a public hiking event, and several buildings have “cherry blossoms” in their title. It probably isn’t difficult to guess that there are many cherry trees in this area. This year the blossoms have started early due to a mild winter and withered before the famous races and hiking event took place. The hiking even will be next Sunday.
The following watercolor painting was done during the beginning stages of blossoming at the end of March.
It shows one of my favorite spots, a parkway alley above Finklham.
