Sunlit Path – Gouache Painting
This gouache painting is based on an old photo that I took many years ago during a vacation in Schladming, Styria. Something about this leaf-covered path next to a brook touches my soul deeply. The trees form like an espalier or an honor guard around the path. The late afternoon sun casts long shadows and draws our eyes like a magnet, inviting us into the light.
This painting is painted with gouache paints and egg (instead of water). As a result, it has the glistening surface of an oil painting and it is as resistant to smudges and can easily be dusted and wiped with a moist cloth.
It will be displayed during my next exhibition. If you are interested in buying the original, you can contact me here. You can buy art prints, posters and greeting cards here.
