Lakescapes and Color Plays – Exhibition 2021.

Tomorrow, many businesses in Austria will be allowed to reopen after weeks and months of lockdown. This includes my “neighbor” the Seehotel Brandauers Villas in Strobl. And with the reopening of the Seehotel, my exhibition in the Seehotel will also open.

Since last year many exhibitions did not take place or only in a reduced form, I was very happy about this opportunity.

Exhibition in the Seehotel Brandauers Villas

Under the title “Lakescapes and Color Plays” I exhibit my paintings in the connecting corridor between the two villas. They include a selection from three series from recent years.

Austrian Lakescapes in acrylic palette knife technique (-2019)

As the local newspaper titled its article about me – the love of water has led me to Strobl. Childhood memories of Lake Weissensee and a spa stay in Carinthia were the trigger for this series with Austrian Lakescapes in acrylic palette knife technique. After my move to Strobl, I have supplemented the series with motifs from the Salzkammergut.

IM series in acrylic ink and watercolor (2019)

IM stands for Impressions, Intuitive Painting, or “I AM”. It is a series created from intuition. Several paintings have titles such as gut feeling, heart plant, etc. A sub-group deals with the theme of fear in my life. I painted most of the works on Guardi watercolor paper measuring 20 x 25 in in portrait format. For many of these I have used acrylic ink, which is particularly suitable for this intuitive style.

The paintings from this series are available at a special Corona low price: they are part of the action #ArtistSupportPledge, which Artmajeur.com launched last year.

Abstract color games in acrylic glaze technique (2020)

After working on old master glaze paintings in oil, I turned to different types of glaze painting in acrylic last year. Glaze painting means the application of countless thin layers of paint. These layers of color are correspondingly transparent and thus convey great depth. The abstract color games combine the intuitive approach with controlled chance. I then rework the paintings according to artistic criteria.

Enjoyment of nature and art in the Combo

The Seehotel Brandauer is one of the greatest places at the Wolfgangsee, where you can enjoy a snack or drink directly at the shore with a beautiful view of the lake and the Schafberg. This incredible nature enjoyment can now be combined with an art enjoyment. I can warmly recommend both. Just ask the staff where to go to the connecting passage between the two villas.

Opposite the Seehotel is my studio “Art * Space”. So if you still have time, drop by for a visit at the studio. It is always open when the beach flag is in front of the door. Or just give me a call – 0660-6292036.

I look forward to your visit.
