Events 2025.

As in past years, I would like to give you an overview of the events 2025. As always, I will add details to this article when I receive new information.

they came to stay

This year’s first exhibition is already underway and is called “they came to stay”. The theme refers to women who are often ignored and overlooked in historiography.

The exhibition opened on January 16, 2025 and runs until February 17, 2025 at ega : frauen im zentrum.

Address: Windmühlgasse 26, 1060 Vienna

100 x 100 : small format, very large

The exhibition “100 x 100: small format, very large” at the Berchtoldvilla Salzburg is based on a concept that curator Andrea Lacher-Bryk got to know and love in New Zealand.

All the paintings are the same size (10 x 10 cm) and cost the same (€100). A total of 100 artists are exhibiting, one work from each artist. The exhibition is an international cooperation, i.e. the artists come from two countries and an identical or similar exhibition takes place in the other country – in this case it is a cooperation with New Zealand. 50 artists are from Austria and 50 artists are from New Zealand.

This combination of small-format works and uniformly low prices is a low-threshold offer for those who are not yet art collectors. It makes you want to buy works of art. There will be several guided tours through the exhibition and a workshop where visitors will have the opportunity to create such small-scale artworks themselves.

Opening: Friday, March 7, 2025, 7:00 pm
Exhibition duration: March 7 to April 24, 2025
Address: art bv Berchtoldvilla, Josef Preis Allee 12, 5020 Salzburg
Curatorial team:
Andrea Lacher-Bryk and Gabriele Straschil (for Salzburg)
Mike Nettmann (for New Zealand)

8 Billions

More than eight billion people have lived on this planet since 2022 and our numbers continue to rise inexorably. However, no one can imagine 8 billion people. Our brains are wired in such a way that we cannot perceive more than 5 (!) things at the same time. For larger numbers, we need tools such as mathematics. Or art.

Opening: Friday, July 4, 2025, 7:00 p.m.
Exhibition period: July 5 – August 14, 2025
Location: art bv Berchtoldvilla, Josef-Preis-Allee 12, 5020 Salzburg

Group Exhibition PEACE

The Gallery RG10 in Vienna invites creative minds with artistic skills to translate this important topic into visual and tangible objects, encouraging us all to reflect on the significance of a PEACEFUL WORLD. Unlike political measures, art does not make recommendations. Visitors take center stage and can explore, understand, feel, reflect, and draw conclusions.

The exhibition is curated and organized by Solomon Okpurukhre, Verena Prandstätter, and Madge Gill Bukasa.

Exhibition opening: Monday, August 18, 2025, at 6:30 p.m.
Exhibition dates: August 19–30, 2025, 3–6 p.m.
Exhibition venue: RG10 Gallery, Rotenlöwengasse 10/1, 1090 Vienna.

Kreatives of Strobl

This year, I will once again be participating in Kreative Vielfalt Strobl (Creative Diversity Strobl) on two weekends. In recent years, we were unable to hold this event at the Deutschvilla because the municipal office was being renovated and the Deutschvilla was housing its offices during this time. We are therefore all the more delighted that it is possible again this year.

Opening: Friday, October 17, 2025, at 7:00 p.m.
Exhibition dates: October 18–26, 2025, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m.
Address: Deutschvilla Strobl, Eva-Mazzucco-Str. 7, 5350 Strobl

The diversity of this Strobl association includes painting, jewelry, patchwork, knitted and turned items. And much more. In addition, on Saturday, October 25, there will be a slide show by our chairman about his mountain tours.

Mosaics of Networks

Curators Andrea Lacher-Bryk and Gabriele Straschil wrote in the call for entries:

The connections between complex processes and sequences of actions are sometimes difficult to discern. How can we make these interrelationships visible? The mosaic, as a technique of abstraction, is an excellent metaphor for the interaction of different, individual parts and perspectives in our interconnected society. It is only through interconnectivity that a greater whole emerges. Each element in the mosaic can represent an individual experience or voice, while the overall picture symbolizes the connection and interaction of these elements. Fragmentation and diversity in today’s world make it appear broken.

In the submitted paintings, I expanded on my previous use of individual fabrics. The result is using different types of fabric, which I called a textile and paper collage. An exciting development in my art practice!

Opening reception: Friday, November 7, 2025, 7:00 p.m
Exhibition period: November 8–December 18, 2025
Location: art bv Berchtoldvilla, Josef-Preis-Allee 12, 5020 Salzburg
Curators: Andrea Lacher-Bryk, Gabriele Straschil

This is an exchange exhibition with another country, namely Finland. The reciprocal exhibition will then take place next year in Vantaa:

Exhibition period: March 27 – April 26, 2026
Location: Galleria K & Taidelainaamo, Asematie 7, 01300 Vantaa, Finland

Perhaps this is a good opportunity to visit Scandinavia?
